About the 21st day of August 1864 the said horses were taken from the said Elias Robinson at Huntsville Alabama for the use of the government of the United States by Lieutenant E. A. Cobb Regimental Quarter Master of 13th Indiana Volunteer Cavalry U.S. Army and have never been returned. They further swear that said Elias Robinson is a Freedman, that his said Claim is just and correct that said horses mentioned is his said account were actually used by the army of the United States; that the prices charged are just and reasonable and do not exceed the prices said horses would have command for cash in hand in the market. They further swear that they are loyal to the Government of the United States and ever have been and that they have my interest direct or indirect in the prosecution of this claim.
