Dear Sir
Having seen the constitution of the agricultural association of Monroe Co and being forcibly impressed with the importance of an organization of like character in our County have succeeded in having a meeting call for the 16th. Just for the purpose of organizing an association in this county. Maj Goode has promised to attend that meeting but for fear ill health may prevent his being present. I would take it as a great favor if you will give me your views on the subject to be presented to the meeting. Being the first county in this section of the state to acknowledge the Rights of Freedmen caused quite a large migration from adjourning counties. Making the class in our county more numerous than before the war and having made almost an entire failure in making crop something must be speedily done or they will starve
