Dear Sir
According to previous notice the citizens of Conecuh County organized an Agricultural Association on the 16th just a coppy of the constitution and officers elected you find enclosed and for particulars I refer you to the Rev. Mr Buckley who was present in answer to a letter written to the judge of probate I find that there is seven hundred + twenty eight (728) indigent white persons in our county (number accertained through the county commissions)and gives it as his appencon that there will be fully that many coloured indigent I have instructed the Executive Committee to report on the 5th I am the member of indigent both white and black in there respectives Beats. Any assistance that you can render to our organization will be appreciated by the society and will ever be remembered with grateful hearts by those who may be the recipients of your generous agency
I was in Montgomery on the 23rd to see you but learned you had not returned from Mobile
