Robert S. Spragins, a citizen of the county of Madison, State of Alabama, by this his petition shows that he is now, and has been since the year 1858, the owner of a house and lot, situate in the city of Huntsville, in the county of Madison, State of Alabama.

In 1863, he rented the said house and lot to one John L. Rison, and placed him in possession thereof, and he continued in possession thereof, residing thereon with his fanily, until [[crossed out]] January [[/crossed out]] February 1865, when he was dispossessed thereof by Col Lyden, commanding the 13th Wisconsin Veteran, Volunteer Infantry, and commandant of the Post, at Huntsville, Alabama, who then occupied the same for about six weeks.
