Stevenson, Ala, 11th Nov 1st/65

To Genl Wager Swayne
Resp. friends,
I wrote to Genl B Fisk on the 27th , making inquiry in regard to several points connected with the Freedmen's Bureau. I received a reply from him yesterday, informing me that this District has been transferred to thee; and stating that he would refer my letter to thee. If thou hast recd said letter, I should thank thee for a reply at thy earliest convenience. In case the letter has not come to hand, I will briefly allude to one or two points contained in it. I am teaching school in Stevenson for the Freedmen under the auspices of the "Penna Freedmen's Relief Assoc", I have 2 schools under my control, now numbering about 170 pupils,

P.S. Please send me an order by which I can travel on Raul-Road, when necessary, at a reduced price, -W.W.-
