and, they were going down to clean them out, and desired to get arms, ammunition and a drill officer; that they had some arms but not enough. Afterward one had an interview with Capt Geddes upon the same subject as stated by him. There was also other evidence tending to show, that a company was being organized, but somewhat conflicting as to the purpose of the company. 
It is due to the Freedmen's Bureau to state that the first information of this company was received from that office. One of the negroes and the most active one, is still at large. The Council do not know what disposition to make of them, and have determined to hold them subject to the action of your Excellency
