Office A.S.A. Comr Columbus Ga Nov 28, 1865 Slanghter Philip Capt & A.S.A.C. G 30. (R.F. & A.L. Vol 2) 1865 L.R.B. 435. 1865. States that negroes are continually coming to his office from Alabama complaining of treatment recd them Four colored men were walking along a few days ago when they were ordered to halt by a party of white men. Not doing so [[strikethrough]] they [[/strikethrough]] two of them were shot. One man wanted a pass to go to Alabama as bands of people calling themselves State Militia have been arresting all colored people and confining them in jail - and that a bad state of affairs exists among the freedmen.
