been going on so long. They have acquiessed in the freedom of the negro and are daily coming more familiar with this condition of society, as an evidence of this fact the planters in this neighbourhood to my knowledge as many of them have kept nothing from the negros but tell them they are free to go where they wish and work for whoom they please. It is dificult to make bad men and wild wreckless adventures conform to the requirements of Society and I believe it is no others that are yet keeping up this excitement about the negro. I will do all I can to put a stop to these outrages and do Justice to the negro. As to the revocation of my Jurisdiction it Matters but little as it is not a Source of much pleasure Hoping that these outrages may cese and all things may work out for the public good
I remain yours
Very Respectfully
