Sir,
I beg to call your special attention again to the case of a claim by certain Freedmen to Mules now in my possession as agent for Judge Bragg of Mobile, and which I had the honor to lay before you in your office on the 18th inst. 
The papers which I have now laid before Squire Russell give the full history of the case, as far as I have been able, after diligent inquiry, to develope them.
These facts were verbally stated to you, and the papers were in my hands, when I called on you in Montgomery as above, You made no record of any point but the order of the Provost Marshal; and if it is most natural, in the multiplicity of such business, that important points should have escaped your memory on winning the case upon the appeal claimants - above represented -
