In the matter of three mules claimed by Patrick, George Dick & Dollar, Late Slaves of Judge Bragg of Mobile, and now in my possession as his agent, and retained as his property under an order from Major Genl. A. G. Smith. Comd'r Dept. Alabama, dated at Montgomery, 11" July. 1865. I submit the following statement and ask a dismissal of the case. 

1st On or about the 12" of April 1865 Genl Wilson's raid passed Judge Bragg's plantation in this County, and took off some twenty five Mules & Horses, five animals, in good condition. The claimants had charge of these animals, and one of them, at least, led the enemy to their place of concealment. They all assisted in taking the animals to the enemy's line,      On the 14" the three claimants returned, each with a broken down mule, Upon application to Genl A. J. Smith, then Com's dept of Ala, several planters. Judge Bragg included, here confirmed in possession of animals there acquired,  [[?]]
2d    After the establishment of the Freedman's Bureau in Alabama, and the date of it first regulating, 25. May, 1865. Judge Bragg offered to contract with his late slaves. They nearly all refused
