It seems to me that such wrongs should find a redress somewhere. Poor as I am I would give five hundred dollars to have the children placed in hands to be selected by myself. I am trying to take care of the aged and infirm that once belonged to me, and have my hands full, but these children were raised in the house around our table and have never known want.

Should you get them put them in charge of the express company at Montgomery to be delivered to me in Atlanta and telegraph to me, and I will pay all charges. I am known to the company, as I have charge of the Western & Atlantic Rail Road over which their business extends.

My brother T. M. Baugh of Troy Pike Co Ala. will aid as much as he can. Be pleased to let me hear from you by return mail, as I feel like I had made my last effort. For without your aid I can do nothing. Humanity demands that the children should be restored.

Hoping to hear from you soon
