As the within Stores sold, appear to be Ordnance Stores, the Chief of Ordnance Dept. of Ala. would respectfully request, that action may be taken, to recover said Stores.

Respectfully referred to Bvt Maj. Genl Wager Swayne. Com. F.B. The Bvt Maj. Genl Comdg. believes Ordnance and Ordnance stores not to be abandoned property, and that it is not contemplated that such property should be turned over to the Freedmen's Bureau, but that it should be taken up and disposed of by the Ord. Dept. If the within mentioned property has been disposed of, by contract the contract will have to be annulled.
