I visited the Hospital yesterday and find it nearly vacated. I would suggest that you retain the cooking apparatus, furniture &c. for future use — just what we need. This is a capital institution for a State orphan Asylum, and if it could become incorporated would prove a great blessing to this people and perpetuate your name through coming time.

I think we can accommodate a first class school at the same time without much inconvenience. I would suggest that we allow the Freedmen's Bank to be continued with us, charging a slight rent, and giving proceeds to the Asylum.
