will have to  be destroyed, as also what little Bed clothes they have. I learned that supplies of provisions & Blankets had been sent to the County of Respell, to be furnished to indigent persons suffering from Small Pox. I have made application to a member of the Commissioners Court, for that County, who has the supplies in charge, for aportion to be issued to the family in question, but it is refused. A portion of the Blankets have been issued furnished to prisoners in the Jail of the County. Twenty five Blankets have also been sent to Salem Russell County, where I learn there is but one case of Small Pox. 

Be good enough to let me hear from you, & inform me if the Cases on my place are entitled to assistance, if so I would like to obtain it for them, if not, be good enough to inform me. 

I am a colored man & have been living in the city of Columbus for Twenty five years. Should any voucher for my character be required they will be cheerfully given.
