We the undersigned Freedmen of Demopolis and its vicinity beg leave respectfully to express our entire satisfaction at the manner in which Major Pierce, the Asst. Supt. of the Freedmen's Bureau in this place, has discharged the duties of his office. We enjoy the amplest protection of all our rights under his administration and we would regret exceedingly his removal from this place.
