Hereafter, in my judgment the issues may be greatly diminished.

Relative to the condition of the Freedmen, I have to say, they are very generally disposed to be quiet and industrious, and it is rare that instances of trouble are reported to this office. And in my administration of the affairs of the Bureau, I have endeavored to foster good feeling between employer and employee, and to enhance the interests of both.

I feel what I consider. a just pride in the Freedman's School, of my district and with pleasure refer you to my report on that subject, for the month of April.
