Hunstville Jay 12 1866 W F Humphrey Esq Dr Sir On the 1" day of November 1865 I filed with the Assistant Commissioner of the Freedmens Bureau of this City, my application for the restoration of my property at present under the control of said Bureau Said application based upon a special Pardon from the President, a copy of this was sent G. Amnesty accompanying the application. Mr Goodfellow informs that it was promptly forwarded to General Swayne. I have yet received no order restoring me my property and am being deprived of my rents. I would thank you to call at the office of Genl Swayne, get the proper orders & forward me, and also an order if practicable for the rents from the time the order should have been sent me.
