Maj. Gen. Wager Swayne
Asst. Comr Bureau R.F & A L-
Montgomery Alabama

Dr Sir -
I few days since I inquired of Maj. Gen. Howard if transportation could be furnished by the Bureau for a Mrs. Grimshaw (Colored) and five children under 12 years from Uniontown Alabama, to Boston where they have friends who will care for them.

He replies thro' A.A.A. Gen Ketchum that transportation has been issued and the case referred to you - The friends and relatives, of the woman, in this city are very worthy people though poor, and I hope you will find the case one worthy of consideration -
