States that the laws in that part of the country are unequally dispensed. Inquires what he is to do to obtain the same right to peddle goods as a disabled Confederate Soldier.

Respectfully returned to Maj. Genl. Geo H. Thomas Commandg Div. of the Tennessee with the remark that it appears to be a complaint against the law of Alabama, in relation to pedling & against the administration of law & the treatment of Loyal men in, Calhoun County Alabama.  From that County the letter was written.  The injustice complained of is said to be practiced in "This County"- & the privilege sought is to peddle "in the State of Alabama." Georgia, is no where mentioned except in giving the address, & the writer may have been sojourning there temporarily.  I think it is a matter with which I have no means
