unfortunately we have no orphans homes. I do not know that destitution is greater in this tan in many other localities It is a point at which they have expected to find food and numbers have gathered here for that reason.
In conclusion I would earnestly request that a second purchase of corn be made as early as practicable and believe that it would be best to purchase corn exclusively as it will secure a larger quantity food to sustain life.
I telegraphed Maj Kinsman on Saturday last with regard to supplies already purchase for this depot but which have not come to hand We anxiously expect them and hope they will arrive with a day or two at farthest. I have the honor to be
