Major: I have the honor to state as follows:

It is known that the county authorities of Dallas County are in found possession of The Masonic Institute building, and have made application (though not formally to me,) for actual possession. The terms of court just commencing will be held at Cahaba, so that there will be us pressing necessity for the building until next fall. And I do not know of any other suitable place where the sick can be accommodated. By working to this end, the hospital might be put in a course of extinguishment and before the end of summer, be given up, But it sound hardly worth while to go into other
