Office A.A.Q.M & A.C.S. Selma Ala. June 4th 1866 Brevet Major O. D. Kinsman A.A. Genl B.R.F. and A.L. Montgomery Ala. Major I have the honor to inform you that their is no commissioned officers at this place except Major Ogilby 15 Inftry, and myself: this not being a post, he cannot approve my papers, Abstracts or Returns of Subsistence stores, they are voluminous and will require to be compaired [[compared]] with the original orders on which I have issued for approval of Maj. Genl Swayne I respectfully ask permission to proceed in person to Montgomery, to attend to the matter, which is of great importance to me.
