I have the honor to inform you that their is no commissioned officers at this place except Major Ogilby 15 Inftry, and myself: this not being a post, he cannot approve my papers, Abstracts or Returns of Subsistence stores, they are voluminous and will require to be compaired [[compared]] with the original orders on which I have issued for approval of Maj. Genl Swayne
I respectfully ask permission to proceed in person to Montgomery, to attend to the matter, which is of great importance to me.
