Tuscaloosa, Aug. 1, '66 Dear Sir: I wrote to you a few days ago to acknowlidge the receipt of your reply to mine addressed to Gen. Swayne. I have now the pleasure of informing you that I have found a gentleman every way qualified to take charge of my proposed school for freedmen, a teacher of many years experience. I am now ready to open the school, as soon as I receive from you instructions in regard to the mode of entering into a contract for the payment of the teacher, rent of school room, &c.
