General
It has just come to the knowledge of the under Signed, a citizen of the above named County & State that his plantation is recorded in the office of B.R.F & AL. as confiscable on the 8th day of April 1865.  

It may be sufficient to state that your Petitioner is aware of no special reason for the said record of confiscation, never having held any office, civil Military or Naval, under the Confederate States. 
That under the Presidents Proclamation 29th May 1865 he applied through Maj. Gen. Geo H. Thomas for a Special Pardon & restoration of all his rights & immunities & removal of all disabilities as a citizen of Alabama, which was granted
He would farther state that certain parties who occupied his said plantation whose conduct was prejudicial to the Peace & good order of the United States & of the community, they having at various times stolen & appropriated to their own use, mules Horses & other property of the United States & of Citizens & having been incarcerated therefor & relieved themselves from the same by violence and therefor the Military authorities under the Command of Col F S Lovell 46th Wis.
