Dear Brother -
In a late letter from Noah, our Sister's Husband, he states that he had not long previously heard from you, & that you were then in Washington. I, therefore, write to say how glad we all here were to have these tidings of you after so long & so painful a separation - Since leaving Virginia I have lost my little Boy, James; & Sister has lost her little Son, Booker. Latterly we have not had good health out here, having suffered almost constantly from Chills
