State of Alabama Montgomery County Personally affirmed before me Geo. A. Harmouth and Asst. Supt. of the Bureau of Ref. F. and A. L. Georgiana Evans Col'd and said that on last Sunday my employers wife Mrs Wade told her husband Mr. Carter Wade living in Lowndes County in said State; that I had been giving her impudence and that she wanted him to give me impudence and give it to me good. She had previously told me that when her husband came home she was going to have him whip me. Mr. Wade came in my room with a stick in his hand and I jumped out of the window and came to my aunts about a mile from Mr. Wade, I sent my aunt for my clothes and she found that Mr. Wade had them in his home locked up. I then sent my mother to get my clothing, Mr. Wade refused to give it to her and beat her and threw a hammer at her. Witness my mark this 16th day of June 1866. Georgiana her X Mark Evans Sworn and subscribe to before me at Montgomery City in said State and County this 16th day of June 1866 Geo. A. Harmount Asst. Supt. Bureau R. F. and A. L.
