the opinion is entertained that a field Officers Court Convened by such Commanders, would not be the appropriate tribunal for the trial of offenders at any one of such posts.

But a garrison Court Martial might still be Convened at the post, provided the garrison Consisted of different Corps in the sense of the sixty sixth article; and such Court would properly be appointed, not by the regimental but by the post Commander. If, however, the Character of the Command at the post did not authorize the assembling of a garrison Court, a general Court Martial Convened in the usual way Could alone be resorted to for the trial of offenders in the Regiment.
