Autauga County} Before the undersigned Justice of the peace for said county personally appeared F. W. Leave, and Harriet P. Leave, and his sister Emily Leave, who being by me duly sworn depose and say that they are well acquainted with Nathaniel Jefferies Jr. now under military arrest: that said Nathaniel Jefferies Jr. came to their house in said county on the evening of Decr 31st 1865 before night, it being the same night that the freedman on Wm Boothe's place were robbed. that said Jefferies remained at their house all of said night of Decr 31st 1865 & until after breakfast the next morning: that their house is so constructed that he could not have left without their knowledge, and that the said Jeffries slept that night in the same bed with said F. W. Leave.
