Mr. Foot, who claims that the Mary is private property, and not captured or abandoned, is very confident that before the day of sale he will have an order to have her returned to him.

There is but little doubt in my mind that the sooner disposed of the better for if kept much longer the money realized will scarcely pay all the claims set up against them, and I am of the opinion that if you would authorize Col. Wright to sell them at once, or private sale he could get more for them than if fully advertised and sold by proposals or at Public Auction.
