Desiring Senator Sumner to obtain transportation for Mrs. Charlotte Bolling, Mrs. Eliza Fauntleroy and their 13 children to Ft. Monroe Va. - Thinks they will become dependant on Gov't. Encloses former application, which was refused. vol 4 [[stamp]] BUREAU R.F. & A.L. * WASHINGTON * REC'D JUL 2 1866 [[/stamp]] [2 ENCLOSURES] Desiring Senator Sumner to obtain transportation from the Freedmen Bureau for the wifes and thirteen children who have been separated from their husbands now at at Fortress Monroe. Va Transportation has been once refused, but is asked again on the ground that the parties will soon be want and dependant upon the Bureau. Therefore it will be cheaper to give transportation John P. Corbin Montgomery Alabama June 18th, 66 War Department Bureau Refugees, Freedmen to Washington July 2, 1866 Respectfully Referred to Bvt. Maj. Genl. Wager Swayne Asst. Comr. for Ala. (With the transportation as within requests) who will please cause this Transportation to be delivered to the parties named and receipt acknowledged, if he deems this is a worthy case.
