Confederate Officer to take the buildings urged him not to do it, & pointed out another building the taking of which would produce less public inconvenience - but the Officer turned a tenant of the trustees out of possession and took the property for the purpose stated - 
After the overthrow of the Confederate authorities the property was taken possession of by U.S. Officers & continued as a hospital until the withdrawal of the U.S. troops - upon the application of the trustees, made since the buildings were no longer needed for Hospital purposes an order was made by you as I have been informed directing
