I was trying to [[strikethrough]] pacify [[/strikethrough]] Peaceify them until I see them a drawing there pistols which made me give back because it is not customary for a for a [[strikethrought]] Norll [[strikethrought]] Northern Gentlemen as I call Myself to carry any such weapon and it did really scare me at first but afterwards I took it very cool indeed and may in the Eveing they commenced to shoot again but I have not found out the result. It is dreddfull to see women and children a running about a crying and see  Men get knocked down Pistols a flourising about in the air. The very fact is when our Troops was here they was very quick. I have heard say from very good and Reliable Authority that no Union man should live here now I don't fear them the least I shall live here until I get tired a living here and I firmly believe that I have a perfect right to do so. I served under those Glorious Old Stars and Stripes [[strikethrought]] Nine [[strikethrought]] Nine long years and I don't think that she [[strikethrought]] wi [[strikethrought]] will forget me. Your Assistant Genl can tell you about me for me and him spoke together if he remembers it I am the young man that came to him one sunday for an Order for some teams to hanel some corn from the cars to the Steam Boat and to help the poor people.
