Colonel:-
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter, dated January 5th 1865 but which was only delivered to me to day, by Mr Abrams; And in reply beg leave to state, that Mr Milner, formerly a resident of Pensacola Fla., and now a resident here, owns the land on which the present Military Barrack stands, (formerly the Rebel Hospital) he is however at present from Home, but on his return I will see him. I believe I can get a far higher sum than $2000 dollars for it (Mr. Abram's Offer) as the inhabitants wish to turn it in to a Female College, and with Mr. Milner's concurrence, I have no doubt the property will sell well, I will endeavour to obtain the highest price -, at present I of course cannot ascertain its value until Mr. Milners return.
