I would advise their sale at as early a moment as possible or rather practicable, for I have recently had communication with parties who are desirous of purchasing them, and as the business season is drawing to a close they would not sell so well at a late day as they would now. I also think it would be advisable to put them up at public auction, rather than sell them under sealed proposals as the competition would be greater and each bidder would increase his bids in proportion as he saw himself opposed by others.

The Mary will be brought to this post so soon as the stage of the river will admit of it.
