"Lourdes" and Marengo: transportation for rations to "Dale" will first have to be forwarded to "Columbus" Ga. and from thence to "Newton" Ala., (at least so the judge informed me).

The Colony at Garland is healthy with some few exceptions: the clothing sent has been distributed between them and the convalescent cases here, and has proved very beneficial.

Contracts are not coming in so rapidly as formerly, but this cannot be expected, as Planters have hired nearly all the hands they require: I am sorry to say they are setting the Freedmen a bad example by endeavoring to bribe men to leave their employers.
