myself were all incensed at the act, and I am sorry to say that my sympathy with the deceased, who was my friend, and died in my arms, has produced considerable animosity towards me, I have been taunted and was last night fired at, but thank God have escaped, though a a ball passed through my hair. 
I beg here to be permitted to urge the necessity of more rigid discipline at this Post. 
My sympathy with young Godwin may be misrepresented and I hope if any suggestions are made in the matter, you will advise me, and procure for me an opportunity of showing the true facts of the case
