I have the honor herewith to transmit Ration Returns for the month of January 1867 for the inmates of the Colony at Garland also for the Soldiers stationed at this Post Will you please order the A.C.S. to forward the Rations at once as our supplies will be exhausted by the 1st inst
I would also Respectfully call your attention to the great want of cooking utensils at the Colony, at the present time there is hardly one among the inmates who have anything to cook in or eat out of and if you can consistently order the Quarter Master to purchase the following articles which are absolutly needed it would add very much to there comfort. Sixteen (16) 2 Gall Pots and lids Seventeen (17) Skillets and lids Fourteen (14) Coffee pots Six (6) clay plates Seven (7) clay spoons.
