I have the honor to inform you that Enoch Hicks was tried on the 26th inst for an assault upon Rebholy and Corpl Berry for obstructing the entrance to the office of Bureau disturbing the Freedmens School and breaking the peace generally.
For assaulting Rebholy and Corpl Berry, Hicks was found guilty and fined twenty five dollars in each case and was also bound over to keep the peace in two bonds of five hundred dollars each and gave bail for the One thousand dollars. Yesterday while under the influence of liquor said Hicks assaulted Mr Cammellone of his bondsmen after which the bondsmen with drew from the bond and Mr Hicks now quietly reposes in jail
The course which has been pursued in Hick's case has been rigid beyond the expectation of any one here which is attributed to the example set by the Military
