Sir,

I have been laboring among the freedmen
of Tennessee and Alabama for more than nine months talking and preaching to them and my travelling expenses have been mighty heavy. Some of our teachers obtain transportation of some kind which enables them to travel at soldier's rates, or at a lower price. Would you not be so kind as to furnish me with an order for transportation at soldier's rates?
I have been laboring here in Tuscumbia from
