I enclose handwritten copy of Genl order no. 47 dated Hdqrs 15th US. infantry Macon Ga. Aug 4th, 1866, detailing me for General Rect'g [[Recruiting]] Service and ordering me to proceed to N.Y. City 

In order that I may comply with this order I most respectfully request to be relieved from duty in this District
