Decided not to rent Mr. Wilsons farm therefore, provision of some kind must be made for me, who will be forthwith numbered among the "Destitute"

In conclusion Major I would earnestly request you to take some steps to render me some assistance, I believe I am still retained on Lieut Browning's pay rolls, I don't profess to be positive about the matter however, as my late experience, including the mysterious silence which follows and attaches itself to my correspondence disturbs considerably my faith in the "Real."

I beg respectfully to request an early reply to this letter, the safest way of sending a letter to me would be to send it under cover to some one at Mobile, say Lieut. Jos. Logan A.A.Q.M. he would forward it by some bout, the envelope which encloses my letter however must be a Govt. stamped envelope, and should be directed to me at Gainstown Clark Co. Ala.

I have the honor to be Major
Your obedient Servant
George O'Reilly
