Swayne, Commissioner Dear Sir, We have this afternoon, sent to the Transportation Three boxes marked nos. 81. 82. and 83 -- of clothing for the use of the Freedmen, in your department, which you will distribute, in accordance with your better judgment. Any information you might impart to us, in relation to the people, under you charge, would be highly appreciated; and hearing of the safe arrival of these Boxes, would be satisfactory.
