I am advised by a gentleman today, that you have kindly proposed to recognize a requisition for blankets clothing, &c. I was yesterday, endeavouring to arrange, for the destruction of the bedding, clothing, &c, in our Post House; and have found I would have difficulty in inducing these poor, helpless creatures to give it up. Your offer comes in good time, and I respectfully ask you to furnish me with Blankets, & clothing for thirty persons, men, women, & children. I do this, presuming that the information I have of your beneficent offer, is correct.
