Relative to your communication of the 26th ult., requiring fifty (50) hospital tents for preparation of a cholera hospital for freedmen, at Dog River, I have the honor to inform you that I Telegraphed the Quartermaster General, on the 27th, for the necessary authority- as the order in relation to small-pox tents was not deemed applicable, from its Terms, to this case. Anticipating an immediate answer, notice to that effect was not furnished you; but matter being still in abeyance, you are hereby advised of the action of this office.
Very Respectfully
