I enclose here with a contract just brought in by some Freedmen from Greene County.  I never saw it before today, and it never was approved by any agent of the Bureau.

You will observe that it proves that the employer is to receive two thousand pounds of lint cotton from each hand before they get anything. T his amount per hand is about double the quantity made - so the Freedmen get nothing.

The cotton (32 Bales) is shipped to Mobile and Brown & Moore are preparing to leave the country
