Dear Sir
I have on the Freedmans Home in this County (after apprenticing all the children I could get responsible parties to apprentice and denying rations to all I thought would not suffer) seven families and two old men making an agregate of twenty eight persons which I have been feeding from Rations reserved form last month hoping I would be able to find homes for them at the expiration of this month. but find myself unable to find homes for them and I donot see but what they are compelled to suffer unless there is some relief afforded them; They look to me for relief and I could not consistent with my feelings turn them off without making one more appeal to you in their behalf. The responsibility is by no means pleasant and one I would willingly yield to any one.
Please inform me what course I must persue toward them
Respectfully Your Obt Sevt
