I have the honor to represent to you the following Statement.
On the 24th day of Dec a negro boy formally a Slave of Mr. N. A. Moore of Coffee County left his plantation and came up to my father, who resides in the County 30 miles South of here, and expressed a disire to him to work on the farm.  My father contracted with him for himself & his 4 children, who's names & ages are as follows to the best of my judgement. Rufus a boy about 17 yr of age. Susanna a girl about 15.  Monroe a boy 14. Killis about 12 years old.  After which we went down to get them, and Mr. Moore had had them bound to him by the Court at Elba Coffee County.  By making a wrong representing their cases & dependence to the court. Each of the above named freedmen are abundantly able to support themselves. Mr. Moore had them bound without their consent or knowledge.
