I have the honor to inform you that Mr S C Knight a Citizen of Chambers Co states that one Mr E H Doolittle made application to Judge Harper and had apprenticed to him two minor colored children the Legitimate offspring of Nicy a colored woman Both Boys, named respectively Albert and Andrew Both able to make a living  He also states the afforsaid Nicy has four (4) children which are an incumbrence to her that Nicy is in his (S C Knights) employ and in his opinion the afforsaid Boys wer apprenticed Contrary to law and that they would materially aid the mother in making a Support. Says he Spoke to Judge Harper about the matter and the Judge would not give him a Satisfactory answer. He therefore requests that the Indenture of the Judge in the above Case Re recinded, if Mr S C Knights Statement are true (and I believe they are) the Judge has apprenticed [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] Such as would be able to work
