Charge and Specification prefered against Citizen John Adams.

Charge. Interfering with United States soldiers in the execution of their duty.

Specification. In this that the said James Adams did take hold of and pull away Private Isaah Newman of the Eighth Regiment Iowa Veteran volunteer Infantry, in the service of the United States; while the said Newman was endeavoring to arrest one Joe Adams, in accordance with orders from the Assistant Superintendent of Freedmen of the District of Montgomery, under whom he was serving.

All this at or near West Point Georgia, on or about the seventeenth day of March eighteen hundred and sixty-six.
