Office Asst. Supt. R.F. & A.L.
Geenville Ala: April 24th 1866

Colonel C. Cadle Jr.
Colonel
I have the honor to recommand to you Mr Conrad Genth, formerly Q.M. Sergt. of the 178 N.Y. Vols.,now a citizen and in search of employment. Mr Genth, is in every respect a gentleman, reliable, steady and sober. He writes a beautiful hand and would therefore be quite an acquisition for an Officer. If through your influence he would obtain a situation, you would greatly oblige him and me also.
Very Respectfully
Your obd. Servant
F.O. Steinberg.
Capt. & Asst. Supt.
